Unfortunately, Michael could not leave work until the 28th (this being his busiest time of the year!) so we had to re-arrange some of our plans. Our trip will take us to 3 locales in China: Nanjing, Guangzhou and Beijing.
March 29th - March 30th: Travel Time
We leave Newark airport on March 29th and begin the 14-hour trip, losing a day in the process. We stop in Beijing only long enough to change planes to Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. On the evening of March 30th, we check into the hotel and get ready for the big day!
March 31st - April 4th: Nanjing, Jiangsu Province
On March 31st, we meet Willow for the first time and take "temporary" custody of her. While the adoption papers are being finalized that week, our "family" will be taking in the sites of Nanjing.
April 5th - April 10th: Guangzhou, Guangdong Province
We travel to Guangzhou on April 5th with the other 8 families who are bringing their children home. We have an appointment with the U. S. Consulate on April 10th to begin the paperwork for Willow's visa to return to the states. Again, while the paperwork is being processed, we will be able to take in the sites of Guangzhou.
April 11th - April 14th: Beijing
We return to Beijing. At this point, the other families will leave to go home. However, since we were not able to stop and sight-see in the beginning of the trip as originally planned, we are taking a few days at the end.
April 15th: Travel Time
We take the long journey home (and get back the day we lost!) to our brand new life and look forward to all it has to offer, together.
